Conquer desires of the flesh, such as, overeating, lust, greed and drunkenness. By implementing self control and restraint you will be able to prevent harmful vices from having a negative effect on your mind and body.
Lack of self confidence in a person can be fueled by doubt. If you doubt your abilities and skills continuously then this will only fuel your self-doubt. This can be either a group who meets at regular intervals or an online forum. Forums are often more convenient, as you are able to update at your leisure.
In order to begin to appreciate yourself and become the person that you want to be, you will need to make the self proclamation of lowliness. Once you acknowledge the fact that you do not know everything, you will begin to learn, understand and improve things, that will increase your self-worth.
Stop thinking so much about yourself.
